Redshank at Stanley Pool, Reed Bunting and Grey Wagtail at Hazelhurst Junction and Jackdaw roost.

Last week a small flock of Redshank were seen taking advantage of the last rays of January sunshine at about 4pm at the dam end on Stanley Pool.

On 06/01/2014 Reed Bunting were spotted at their traditional breeding territory in amongst the small reed bed/willow carr at Hazelhurst Junction. Also a Grey Wagtail at the nearby lock. Are they starting to establish 2014 territories?

Finally, the Jackdaw roost at Baddely Green is still functioning. A few days ago (14/02/2014) approx. 200 birds seen flying around the poplar trees. And, at least six Snipe were vocal and displaying in nearby swampy/marshy area.
